Seran Eye Center

Seran Eye Center, a specialized clinic for cataract and refractive surgery (LASIK and LASEK), was opened by eye doctors who had been working as full time professors at Severance Hospital, Yonsei University on Dec 26, 2000.

Thanks to their reputation as professors at Severance Hospital, Yonsei University, Seran Eye Center was established as the specialized clinic for the cataract and refractive surgery just after the opening with more surgery cases than the University hospitals have. It won the first prize at American Academy of Ophthalmology and four times prizes at Europian Society of Ophthalmology about developing safe and new surgeries and doing many researches, which happened for the first time in the country. It means the world acknowledge the ability of Seran Eye Center. Seran Eye Center also ranked first in 2006 total cataract surgery cases announced by the Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs.

In addition, Seran Eye Center staffs won the first prize in 1993 at American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery about developing safe and new surgeries, which was the first case in the country, with the first prize in 1995 and the prize for excellence in 1997. Moreover, it won the first prize at European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery in 2000. As you can see, Seran Eye Center is doing its best to study and develop the ophthalmological surgery.

Seran Eye Center introduced Wavefront IR surgery, microincision cataract surgery, surgery for presbyopia, etc. in the country and improved the patient’s satisfaction noticeably. Seran Eye Center has the high-priced high-tech instruments such as Air-shower system, optical CT, sealing typed microscope, Visix S4 IR, Wavelight refractive suite(FS200+EX500), Alcon infinity, LenSx, and others for safer surgery.

Further, the excellence of Seran Eye Center was recognized in other various areas, as well. It was selected as the ‘clinic of good brand recognition’ in the specialized medical clinics in Seoul from the survey about ‘Brand recognition of nationwide medical clinics’, which was administered by Korea Gallup and superintended by SBNC, and selected as the ‘best clinic(Dec 22)’ by Dong-A Newspaper.
